  • About Us
At Speech Basics, your health and safety is our top priority during this unprecedented time. The Department of Homeland Security and state governments have deemed speech therapy an essential component of health care during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic; therefore, our clinic remains open to serve those in need. We are taking extensive preventative measures, guided by the CDC, to protect our patients and employees who enter our clinic.

Our plan of action during this time is to implement the following protocols:

PATIENT SCREENING

All patients will be screened upon arrival of their appointment time to make sure they are not exhibiting symptoms. If a patient is presenting with COVID-19 symptoms, they will be advised to return home and contact their physician. More importantly if the client or family has been sick, please contact us and we will reschedule your appointment or hold the session through teletherapy services!***  Each client will be given a mask with a clear vinyl opening around the mouth  to wear during our sessions.

STAFF SCREENING

All contract employees will be screened for COVID-19 daily. Those presenting any level of symptoms will not report to work and will follow up with their physician before returning to work.

HEALTH HYGIENE PROTOCOLS

Ongoing reinforcement to all staff and regarding hand washing and other preventative measures for equipment and supplies are in place and being enforced. We are asking all clients and caregivers to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and before they leave.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Overall caseload size is being kept to a minimum at clinic. Schedules have been redesigned to prevent concentrations of individuals. Typically, one client and parent are in attendance at a time.

OPTIONAL TELEHEALTH VISITS

In addition, our clinic has been approved to provide telehealth services to patients on insurance as well as our clients who choose to pay via cash. The telehealth services can easily connect you with licensed Speech Therapists through web-based technology that is HIPAA compliant. The Speech Therapist can complete assessments and provide speech services through telehealth services.

For patients coming to our clinics for care, we ask that you please limit the number of people who accompany you to your appointments, unless they are necessary for transportation or assistance. If for any reason you are not feeling well, please contact the clinic and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.

Thank you for helping us ensure the safety of our patients and employees, as well as families of both!!
